AEK ATHENS JOIN QUEUE FOR NORWICH WINGER LINKED WITH BIRMINGHAM

Reports in Poland claim Birmingham City are interested in signing Przemyslaw Placheta and now there are suggestions AEK Athens are also keen on the Norwich City winger. Polish news site Meczyki claims that management of the Greek Super League side are looking to sign the 24-year-old this summer. Their latest report on Placheta comes less than 24 hours after claims that several Championship clubs were also interested in the winger. Birmingham City were the only club mentioned in the report, with suggestions that the Blues could look towards striking a loan to buy deal with Norwich.

Placheta missed the start of City’s 2021/22 Premier League campaign due to Covid. He made five consecutive starts under Dean Smith in December and January but was named in the starting line-up for a Premier League fixture only once in the final months of the campaign. Along with two starts in the FA Cup against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool, Placheta played 11 times for the Canaries last season. Since his move from Slask Wroclaw in the summer of 2020, Placheta has made 41 appearances for City, scoring one goal.

Elsewhere, Feyenoord are reportedly interested in Norwich winger Christos Tzolis. It is said the Dutch club are interested in a loan deal for the Greek youngster who is also wanted by Club Brugge. The player has been attracting a lot of interest from a ciuooe of clubs in England, including the Premier League and in the Championship as well.

He is expected to evaluate his options in the coming weeks and choose whether he wants to continue at his current club or seal a move away while the summer transfer window is still open for businesses between clubs and players. AEK Athens are very much willing to acquire his signature.
