RANGERS EYEING TRANSFER FOR AEK STRIKER

Rangers are reportedly interested in a move for AEK Athens striker Marko Livaja. The 27-year-old Croatian international was strongly linked with a transfer to the Scottish Premiership league leaders before the January transfer window ended earlier this week. Rangers were not able to pull off a deal for the striker before the recent transfer market ended and they might go back for him in the summer. The interest of Rangers in the Croatian striker was revealed by Vital Football.

Rangers were seriously linked with AEK Athens player Marko Livajalast month as potential replacement for the striking duo of Jermaine Defoe and Alfredo Morelos. There were serious doubts over the immediate future of Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos and Jermaine Defoe but the two players eventually stayed at the Scottish Premiership giants beyond the recent January transfer window. OLYMPIAKOS TAKE ALL BRAGGING RIGHTS AGAINST AEK IN ATHENS DERBY

Moroccan International footballer El Arabi was the star performer and stole the show as Olympiakos emerged 3-0 winners over their bitter rivals in what was a heated and thrilling contest.


North African forward El Arabi initially missed a glorious chance to put his side in front after just ten minutes into the match but eventually redeemed himself later on as he found the back of the net on two occasions. His first goal was a sublime one as he picked up a wonderful pass from French teammate Yann M’Villa to strike a header past opposition goalkeeper Panagiotis Tsintotas.

AEK Athens Made Their Way to the Europa League

 

Europa League is one of the most famous league championships in Europe. Most of the renowned clubs of Europe fight at their home league to get a place in this league. The Greek Super League giant AEK Athens has made their way to the premier division league championship as they defeated VFL Wolfsburg with a result of 2 goals to 1. The comeback of the team to the Europa League has made thousands of their supporters happy and thus they want to come back to the stadium to support their team. On the contrary, the Greece government is also thinking about bringing back the spectators to the ground to increase the excitement of the matches as well as the income of the Greece Football authoritative bodies.


The opponent club was leading with 1 goal to nil after the first half as Admir Mehmedi put the ball into the net for VFL Wolfsburg. But the show had still something to display and like a miracle; AEK Athens came back to the match in the second half to score 2 goals back to back and named the match in their favor. Andre Simoes scored the equalizer in the 64th minute of the match and then again in the 4th minute of the injury time, Karim Ansarifard scored the goal to make his team the winner.

David Ornstein updates on Papastathopoulos’ transfer stance at Arsenal

 

The Athletic reporter David Ornstein has revealed that Sokratis Papastathopoulos is likely to remain with Arsenal for the final year of his contract. The Greece international was a regular starter for the Gunners under former boss Unai Emery, but he has not enjoyed a similar role with Mikel Arteta at the helm.


In fact, he has managed just one minute of first-team football after the coronavirus shutdown last month and it is quite clear that Arteta does not fancy him. Despite this, it appears that the former AEK Athens graduate has no plans of parting ways with the north London giants this summer, considering none of the interested sides are likely to meet his wage demands.

AEK Athens interested in journeymen Karim Hafez

 

AEK Athens are reportedly interested in the possibility of signing Karim Hafez if the player is available. Karim Hafez is an Egyptian left back who is currently part of theWadiDegla setup even if he has been playing on loan at various clubs over the last few years. After coming through the ranks atLierse in the 2014 season, Hafez has gained a reputation for being journeymen. Despite being only 24 years old, he has already represented seven clubs in his career. However, the potential within the youngster is still quite remarkable and it earned him a place in the preliminary squad for the World Cup 2018 in Russia. He has featured in seven games for the Egyptian national team since his debut in 2015.

The 24-year-old has played in a number of leagues that make himquite experienced at handling the Greek Super League where AEK Athens have been finding it hard to make a major impact in recent years. The team are third in the championship with a few points separating them from second placed PAOK. The club need a major run of results in order to qualify for the Champions League next season. The second place team in the Greek Super League will be gaining eligibility for the third qualifying round of the Champions League. One of the few successes for AEK Athens has come in the Greek Cup finalwith the team taking on Olympiakos.
